Come down to 111 Minna Gallery to DRINK LIKE A FISH for a good cause. The Asian Pacific American Ocean Harmony Alliance (APAOHA) present this mixer event to celebrate SHARKS. Demonized, villified, sensationalized yet mysterious, sharks are magnificent creatures. They inspire awe, fear, admiration, and fascination. As the lions and tigers of the sea, they also maintain the balance of the ocean environment.

Bar Snacks by RICE PAPER SCISSORS, a vietnamese pop up cafe
Inspired by the sidewalk dining and street food in Vietnam, Valerie Luu and Katie Kwan recreate the experience here in San Francisco, complete with little red stools, and a menu of Vietnamese comfort foods with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. @ricepapersf

"Grilled Cheese'fin Soup" by Michael Davidson, the Grilled Cheese Guy, and of BEHIND THE CART

When the Grilled Cheese Guy Mike Davidson isn't busy designing menus for POPULAR FOODIE EVENTS, he is busy as a SHARK NATURALIST for the Incredible Adventure Shark Dives out in the Farallones Marine Sanctuary outside San Francisco. Come meet Mike, who will be serving bowls of "GRILLED CHEESE'FIN SOUP" which is a yummy seasonal tomatoe soup with a triangular grilled cheese half-sandwich. Mike says he wants to use his specialty to make a FOOD STATEMENT against the cruel and unsustainable practice of shark finning. Ask him all about sharks!

LIVE ART PERFORMANCE by Rick Kitagawa of MONKEY + SEAL
Monkey + Seal was born to create an individual space for these two artists who are part of a growing generation of creatives who are not fine artists nor illustrators nor animators nor designers, but are an indistinguishable mix of all of the above. Monkey + Seal brings other artists with them on their quest towards changing the world, and resolved to become Artists Empowering Artists.

ABOUT APAOHA (pronounced "Ah-POE-Ah"):

We are a group of Asian Americans who believe in preserving the harmony between humanity and nature. We came together to advocate for protecting the health of the ocean and against the inhumane and unsustainable consumption of shark fin. We are a proud co-sponsor of a landmark California shark protection legislation along with the MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM. More info: HERE.

Join us for a fun night to raise awareness for shark conservation. We will have AWESOME FOOD by Rice Paper Scissors, a LIVE ART production for sharks, SHARK EXPERTS, and a SHARK PHOTO BOOTH!
